About Rallville

Welcome fellow Halloween'ers!  Jeff and Lynn Rall here.  As you might have guessed, we LOVE Halloween!  Ever since we were young kids we were in awe of those people who went all out with the Halloween decorations.  Everyone did the Christmas decorations, there was only those few special people who did Halloween.  We always wanted to be one of them.  Well . . .NOW WE ARE!

Our 1st Halloween together neither of us were sure of what the other would think of the "obsession", so we were a little conservative that year.  The following year, when we knew we were Halloween compatable, we entered the decorating contest our apartment complex was having.  WE WON!!!  After that, ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE!
hahaha

In October 1994, we founded "RALLVILLE".  Our very own Halloweentown.  We 1st started out with cardboard tombstones and newspaper dummies.  When we moved back to New Jersey that didn't hold up to the weather very well so we began making everything from plywood.  To stay on our budget we used scraps of plywood that my Jeff would get from job sites.  We started out with 1 basic tombstone shape, now we have a  wide variety of shapes and sizes.  We used ourselves to trace out body parts that we scatter across the graveyard.

Every year we try to add something new to the cemetary.  In 1998 we added the torture chamber to our already exsisting guilotine.  Added was the stretching rack, the dungeon wall and the working stockade.  We had a lot of people ask to have their pictures taken in the stockade.

Along with our annual party, known as "The Rallville Monster Bash", Rallville 1999 hosted its 1st Official  Haunted Walk Through.  We are happy to say it was a success!  We had 10 unearthly ghouls and well over 200 guests.  Not bad for our first run.  We were a little nervous at 1st about our rolls and what we would be saying or doing but once we got started there was nothing but thrills, chills and a really great time!

In 2001 we moved into our new home with a much larger yard to work and grow with.  As with any expansion our expenses grew also and with no financial backing we began charging a small fee.   We were a little uncomfortable with keeping all of the money we recieved and with 9/11 so closely  behind us we made the desicion to donate  the money that was left over after our expenses, such as food  for our ghouls, costumes and materials for props, to the local PBA. That year we donated $240.  In 2002 we  donated $420. to the townships child id program.  And in 2003, we were able to raise $1100  for the volunteer fire department. We raised just under $1100 in 2004 for The United Methodist Church.
